Lawrence House Museum is a volunteer led local history museum in North Cornwall. At the beginning of the pandemic the museum desperately needed to overhaul its online presence, rebrand and join the 21st century! We were fortunate to receive a recovery grant from South West Museum Development and engaged Jo to build a new website and Leeann to rebrand the organisation. At Athelstan Museum Malmesbury, run wholly by volunteers, we needed to update our image and create a new brand. As part of this process we received a Business Diagnostic grant from South West Museum Development to develop a new website which would reflect our changing image. We wanted a web design company who could work with volunteers, be creative and flexible and help us reach our very tight deadline within our budget.

Jo and Leeann at Callia Web, our chosen web designers, were professional and communicative. They researched our museum and history, suggested innovative ideas, worked within the colour palette of our new logo, incorporated audio elements, and reported to us at the end of each week which kept us on track to meet the deadline. They trained a team of us to manage our bright new website ourselves, giving us the future sustainability we were looking for.

We are very proud of the new website which reflects the museum’s recent developments and image. I am so pleased I contacted Callia Web as I was looking for some help to design a website for my nutrition business. I had seen a couple of their beautifully designed websites online and was interested to see if they would be able to create something for me as well. I chose the Quick launch Package as I wanted a website that would look professional but could be built fairly quickly, all at a reasonable price and, although I knew roughly the look and feel I wanted, I needed the technical help to put it all together. Jo at Callia Web outlined the process for me with a clear proposal so that I knew exactly the costs and time commitments involved. We had a planning session about a month before we started on the build and she was very clear about I needed to prepare in that time to allow maximum use of the time we had together.

The build afternoons were split into four 2.5 hour online sessions and Jo was great at allowing me time to ponder over the fine detail, for example, which photo to use whilst, at the same time, giving the sessions direction and making sure that all points were covered. She was very patient and coached me through many of the technical aspects of the website build, showing me how to edit pages, photos and blog posts, something that was very important to me as I wanted to be able to manage my website myself on a day-to-day basis. I am delighted with the end result and feel that the vision I had in my mind has come to life on the screen. I would definitely recommend Callia Web and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.
